Kernel not works

Postby bsxx » Sat Aug 23, 2008 1:56 pm

When I compile kernel with grsecurity: grsecurity-2.1.12-2.6.26.2-200808171148.patch
it is not work.
When kernel start it displays two lines one about BIOS and second I cannot read because it binks very quickly.
If I can use kernel debbuger to check this please write me how can I do it.
I found kdb debbuger, but patches are to pure kernel.
thanks for help
Bogdan

My config is:
http://bstec.fm.interii.pl/conf.htm

When I compile kernel with patch pax-linux-2.6.26.3-test14.patch
kernel is not work, either.
config:
http://bstec.fm.interii.pl/conf1.htm

what is your binutils/ld version? also, can you upload your failing vmlinux/bzImage/System.map please as well (that of the PaX only kernel)?

I dropped pax kernel version, but I have grsec version. You can download it from:
http://bstec.fm.interii.pl/grseckern.tar.gz
My binutils are:

binutils-2.18.50.0.8-1mnb2
libbinutils2-2.18.50.0.8-1mnb2

Thanks for help

hmm, it booted up under qemu, can you check that it also works there? if it does, we'll have to do some manual patching/debugging, would be nice if you could come on irc (oftc, #pax or #grsecurity).

On qemu its work.

When I try command from knoppix (not fault mandriva)
#qemu -kernel /media/hda5/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26.2-grsec -hda hda.img -append "root=/dev/hda5 console=ttyS0" -nographic

I have got
