Hey Peepz,

I have recently tried to install the grsec patch on the 2.6.19-1 kernel and there where no problems in compiling nor where there any problems in addes the relevant info to grub.conf. However, whenever i try to boot into the newly patched kernel i recieve the following:

Code: Select all
   Booting 'Fedora Core (2.6.19.1-grsec)'

root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.19.1-grsec ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb quiet
   [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x1e00, size=0xffa51]
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.19.1-grsec.img
   [Linux-initrd @ 0x37e87000, 0x16812d bytes]

Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
intel_rng: FWH not detected.
Red Hat nash version 5.1.19.0.2 starting
mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root'
setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory
switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

Here is the relevant info from the grub.conf file:

Code: Select all
title Fedora Core (2.6.19.1-grsec)
   root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.19.1-grsec ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb quiet
   initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.19.1-grsec.img
title Fedora Core (2.6.18-1.2868.fc6)
   root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-1.2868.fc6 ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb quiet
   initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.18-1.2868.fc6.img

The box i'm trying to run it on is the sighest end spec of this:

Code: Select all
http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?b=&c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&oc=N01946&rbc=N01946&s=dhs&sbc=ukdhsftdppnotebook2

Please if anybody can help me i would be ever so grateful!
