ETA on new stable release

Postby cywkevin » Sat Jul 28, 2007 12:21 am

I know you guys work hard and I appreciate that. However, it has been a long time since the last stable release of grsecurity. I test the dev patches on non-production systems and they work great, but I would love to see a newer stable release.

When can the community at large expect to see a new stable release?

Using 2.6.21.6-grsec here, works like a charm.
Actually, the current stable version has a bug in the memory sanitizing, which is gone since the 2.6.20.x test patches...
Guess it's time for a stable release :)

21.6? The latest patch avaiable it's for 21.5:
grsecurity-2.1.10-2.6.21.5-200706182032.patch

You applyed 21.5 to 21.6?

the plan for PaX is to do it for 2.6.22 as i finally rewrote vma mirroring and also went through most of my to-check list, so all of you should give it a good testing.

well, albeit a bit late, but people did test it and ran into a few bugs (just check the forum), so i've been fixing those and/or waiting for feedback. there're also a few problem in the grsec side that need some thinking, i don't know spender's ETA on that.
