GPU hung with 3.2.44 201304292055

Postby xnr » Tue Apr 30, 2013 10:25 am

Hi,

After applying grsecurity-2.9.1-3.2.44-201304292055.patch to a vanilla 3.2.44 kernel and configure it with options below, I got the following errors while running X:

Apr 29 15:21:59 darkstar kernel: [ 327.280450] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
Apr 29 15:23:55 darkstar kernel: [ 442.243529] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung

Do you know how this problem can be solved? Let me know if you need any more details.

Thank you for your help.

Hi again,

It turns out that the problem is with kernel 3.2.44 itself. After reverting the commit

https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kerne ... e45df96e42

everything works as expected.

More info at http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.d ... rnel/91122.

Sorry for being taking your time with this and thanks for the excellent work with grsecurity.

Thanks.
