Hi,

I'm trying to install the grsec RPM on my RH7.3

But it doesn't create an initrd for the kernel.
I'm a newbie in kernel compiling.

Here is my output:

Code: Select all
[root@pegasus mwils]# rpm -ihv kernel-2.4.18-grsec-1.9.4-LOW.i686.rpm

You don't need an initrd. It's optional. Read more about it at
http://www.linuxhq.com/kernel/v2.0/doc/initrd.txt.html

Basically, just type 'lilo' at the prompt and reboot.

Where did you get the RPM for gresecurity and kernel from?

Hiya: ive been having big issues with gresecurity with RH 7.3. I can compile from source without a problem, I install it.. everything looks fine however it stops my iptables from working. So I thought I must be doing something wrong.. ive tried EVERYTHING just wont work so I thought about the RPM version however I have looked high and low and cant seem to find it. May I please ask you where you got this from? and hopfuly it has better luck with me.

Many thanks
