stupid question in relation to FPGA acceleration

Because most recently i've been digging around on what FPGA's are and what these could do.
FPGA's are great for acceleration, especially pattern matching. Though there's soo much more.
My curiosity lies in the question if it would be doable to have grsec accelerated by an FPGA board in a PCI-E slot.
