grsec patch for 2.6.33

Hello,

I would like to know if the patch named 2.2.2-2.6.39 should be used for kernel version in the range of 2.2.2 - 2.6.39 (including 2.6.33) as the patch name implies. I used first the patch named 2.2.2-2.6.33 and got some rejects, then I used the updated patch 2.2.2-2.6.39 and got many more failures in the rejects.
What does this mean ?
1. Is it better to use the 2.2.2-2.6.33 patch for my kernel version (2.6.33) ?
2. should I try to understand why there are any failures in the rejects and fix the patch to fit my kernel , i.e. no failures are allowed at all ?

Thank you for your time,

Ran

There is no supported patch for 2.6.33. The naming convention for patches is <grsec version>-<kernel version>. The current grsecurity version is 2.2.2. So the 2.2.2 wasn't a kernel version or part of a range. While a patch for 2.6.x.y may apply for some 2.6.x.y+1 without any problem in some cases (when there are no rejects) it certainly will not apply properly to some 2.6.x+n.y, so none of the patches on the website will apply to a 2.6.33 kernel.

Hello,

Is there a patch for 2.6.37 ? If yes, where can I find it ?

Thank you!

Same answer as above; repeat for any kernel that is not one of the ones listed on the front page of the site.
