Hung at (initramfs)

Hi Brad,
After installing the program and setting the settings and after doing: sudo make-kpkg clean
sudo make-kpkg –initrd kernel_image kernel_headers,
I did: cd ..
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.24.5-grsec*.deb linux-headers-2.6.24.5-grsec*.deb and rebooted.
The boot process now hangs with the following message:
[ 17.314089] grsec: denied use of ioperm() by /sbin/usplash[usplash:1190] uideuid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0, parent /scripts/init-top/usplash[usplash:1168] uid/euid:/0 gid/egid:0/0
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-5ubuntu12) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
(initramfs)
What to do? Can I salvage this system from a Live CD? Ubuntu 8.04.
Thank you.
