kernel panic interrupt errors

Postby chholler » Wed Jun 14, 2006 7:10 am

Hello,

since I upgraded one of my systems to a hardened kernel (2.6.14-grsec on Gentoo), I get kernel panics from time to time without any interaction, sometimes it takes only some minutes after the system booted up, sometimes longer. The panic is always the same though: Fatal Exception in Interrupt. (And even the traceback seems to be the same always, at least what I can see of it)

I already exchanged every piece of hardware except harddisk and ram, to make sure it isnt really a hardware failure, but it gets more and more unlikely.

Are there any specific settings in grsecurity/PAX that may cause this?

Thanks in advance

2.6.14 is old now and unsupported, try to reproduce it with 2.6.16+ first. if that also panics then you'll need to provide us with the crash info (netconsole/serial console can capture it) and your .config.
