I confirm that grsecurity-2.2.2-2.6.32.38-201104190633.patch solved my problem with ESXi (I'll try ESX 4.1 soon) and got me as far as the login prompt I will be rolling it out on the production machines in a few days (both virtual and physical), so if anything crops up, I'll let you know. Thanks a lot for your help
