Need to redirect ICH6 sound output.

I have an intel laptop with the standard ICH6 soundcard.
The headphone jack has become flakey, so I desire to redirect sound output to the microphone jack instead.

These threads suggest it can be done (atleast on windows) (apparently the intel sound card is all about software control.... not suprisingly I suppose)

I ask here because they don't give specifics there, I figure if anyone in the entire world might know something about a kernel module... it would be the Grsecurity people.
