Cannot access sound device with RBAC enabled

I am having trouble getting sound (using alsa) to work when RBAC is enabled. gnome-volume-control only shows the OSS dummy device for emulation. I was getting errors in the log about not being able to access /dev/snd/controlC0 but I fixed those by editing my acl policy. The problem remains though. I still cannot access the sound device.

I found out that if I set my output to OSS I can get sound but ALSA does not recognize my intel high definition audio sound device.
