my First Grsec Kernel

Hi fellas
this may sounds a little wierd , but i'm hoping you guys help me out
i'm new to grsec , and not and advanced in linux , neither low level security concepts , i know what a buffer overflow is , and know what ASLR stands for and why people like grsec and pax , anyhow i'm not advanced , here , i have to compile and install a brand new 2.6.17.4 with grsec support
i dont know grsec is compiatible with this release or not , and really dont know which configuration fits my kernel , well i dont have any specific requirement , just a recent kernel with some basic exploit prevention patches , so i made this thread to ask you help me and suggest a simple and working kernel configuration for grsec and pax sections
i have tried once before and i enabled all of grsec and pax features , then i installed the kernel and after reboot i got a hell of segmentation faults ! i'm sure pax and grsec are advanced subjects and one should understand the underlaying topics to make a good thing , and i'm not the one , but maybe you can suggest a simple and working config to work this thing out
my distro is debian based , my kernel is vanilla and i planned to use bootsplash and squashfs too
best Regards
